● Coordinated with V.P. of Operations to interview, hire and train sales employees, as well as determine the most efficient sales shift schedule.

● Restructured the training program to place a higher emphasis on customer service: Ratings increased from 4 stars to 4.7-5 stars in under two years.

● Developed programs to increase employee retention: In one year, turnover rates for weekend shift employees dropped from 90% to 29%, while overall sales employee turnover rates dropped from 68% to 33%.

● Coordinated with NSSF to successfully beta-test First Shots, a customer retention program, and our unique-to-us Open Range Experience. Through this program we saw an increase in customer retention, sales and overall customer satisfaction. 

● Worked with a marketing company to re-design the Range USA website.

● Using TICS, performed background checks on individuals for firearm sales and transfers, which required a working knowledge of current laws.

● As needed, instructed new customers, often various ages from visiting countries, on firearm safety and range basics during Mini Sessions.

● General sales tasks: assisted customers, handled phone transactions, developed promotions, setup for classes, cleaned the facility, processed customer orders, closed the drawer

● Served as the Managing Editor for View from the 901 magazine and developed promotional content for Memphis Public Library and City of Memphis events.

● Assisted the Coordinator of Public Relations and Media with content creation for the Memphis Public Library website, E-blasts and various promotional material (flyers, posters, etc.). 
● Assisted the Coordinator of Public Relations and Media with promotion of the Thinking Money and Family Tales & Tunes events, which included shadowing a live spot interview at MPL on Local Memphis Live.

Urban Fellow Intern/Memphis Public Library and Information Center - Children Services

● Worked with the Children Services Coordinator to develop a name for the Early Literacy Centers at the Memphis Public Library. The name DiscoverREAD was chosen for the centers.
● Developed content creation for flyers and permanent signage for each DiscoverREAD location. 
● Traveled with the Children Services Coordinator to about a dozen various MPL locations to attend events and interview staff/customers in order to obtain a better understanding of what to focus on with the signage and name development.

Substitute Teacher

October 2015 - May 2016

● Taught Ag Mechanics, Ag Power & Equipment and Ag Engineering classes to students at Brighton High School. Skills taught included shop safety, carpentry, arc and MIG welding, small engine assembly, project planning and career awareness.

● Served as an Advisor to the Brighton FFA program, and assisted students with conducting meetings, planning service opportunities and running the chapter. 
● Trained the Brighton FFA Parliamentary Procedures Team, which finished 5th in West Tennessee, and the Livestock Judging Team, which finished 11th in West Tennessee and 3rd in the district. 
● Worked with Senate Majority Leader Mark Norris’s office to draft a resolution congratulating the Brighton FFA Ceremonies team for their achievement of placing 1st in Tennessee and representing our state at the national level.

Served as a substitute teacher as needed for grades Pre-K through 5th, and then served as a long-term substitute in the Crestview Elementary Pre-K Program. 
Strived to promote the CES mission by creating a love for learning while ensuring that all students were proficient or advanced in their grade level skills, and ensured that the Pre-K students met the educational guidelines set forth by Tipton County and the State of Tennessee. 
Provided proper disciplinary measures in order to keep the classroom running efficiently, which gave students an optimal learning environment.
Helped coordinate the CES Pre-K End-of-Year Family Picnic.

● Produced and archived the gavel-to-gavel coverage of the 109th General Assembly in Nashville, which was archived to the state website at www.capitol.tn.gov and other mediums. 

● Camera operation and graphics creation for committee meetings in Legislative Plaza and sessions for the House of Representatives. 

● Metadata management on online video streaming and HD network-based video recording and playback platforms.

● Edited assets for the legislative archives.

 

PBS Master Control Evening Shift Operator

● Oversaw the evening on-air production feed of the 109th General Assembly coverage for Tennessee Public Television Council broadcasting stations.

● Scheduled the weekly broadcast of live and tape-delayed events for the Tennessee Senate and House of Representatives and made prompt production decisions throughout the week.

● Graphics creation during on-air broadcasts.

● Outlined a vision for the TISL Media team in order to make the annual TISL General Assembly a success in our respective area.

● Worked with the TISL Media Editorial Board to create a functional and professional website for TISL Media at www.tislmedia.tislonline.org, various new guidelines, and an environment in which our media participants could thrive and excel in their learning.

● Organized conference calls and managed a media team of around 30 individuals at the TISL General Assembly. 

● Main point of communication of TISL Media for the other areas and Board of Directors of TISL.
