View from the 901 (vol. 5)

Managing Editor

 

'View from the 901' is a quarterly magazine produced by the City of Memphis Marketing Department. The magazine is dedicated to showcase the City's hard-working employees who make our city a great place to live and work. I interviewed and photographed City of Memphis employees, and then wrote and copy edited articles for the magazine.

TENNESSEE GENERAL ASSEMBLY

 

Campaign Against Hunger

Production Assistant

 

Members from all three branches of Tennessee's government worked together on January 16, 2015 to package over 50,000 meals for food banks across the state. Our department worked with the Chief Clerks' Offices, Tennessee Senate, Tennessee House of Representatives, and other organizations to produce videos of the event. I assisted with production day organization, as well as post-production copy editing.

Special Commencement Issue

Coordinator, 2012 Inaugural Issue

 

In February 2012 I approached Tomi Parrish, the adviser of the Office of Student Publications, with an idea to have a publication specifically designed to feature the graduates each year. We gathered interested students and worked to create the inaugural Special Commencement Issue.  The publication was completed over the 2012 summer and mailed or handed out to graduates from the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 semesters. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Taking Flight magazine 

Staff Member, 2012 and 2013 Issues

 

During the summer of 2012, students in The Spirit and The Pacer shared an interest in creating a magazine that could be handed out to freshmen entering UT Martin, and the 2012 Taking Flight magazine took flight. My roles with the 2012 issue included the initial team brainstorming, as well as creating copy for topics including student organizations and athletic previews. I served as a writer and designer for the 2013 issue.
